Market stalls
Many business serving up good produce that is free from animal products are in their infancy. To keep overheads down, they operate from mobile food stalls and so you tend to find them at farmers' markets and trendy clothing markets in London, Brighton and Bristol. These businesses can be transient to say the least, so do check before heading off in search of any of the culinary delights identified below. That said, if you are heading to a food market, or big market like Camden Lock, then you are likely to find at least something to graze on to give you the energy to fight the hordes of tourists queuing for Bob Marley T-shirts and cigarette rolling machines. Enjoy!

Cookies and Scream, The Market Hall
You've got to hunt this one down as it's tucked away amongst all the other food stalls but once you get there and you see all the squidgy, yummy cookie options available to you for £2 a go, you will forget the mission it took! Our favourite place to go when we need something crunchy and crumbly and the size of a small plate! Our top choice is the chocolate chip cookie. Milkshakes and brownies available too. Sugar up!

Brixton Market
The vegan pizzas at Franco Manca where it all started in Brixton Market are terrific. The only downside is the queue. Now a chain, so you can get the same quality pizza, without having to wait all night, just round the corner at their new premises
